Last day in Kudat.

This morning I finally got from behind the computer and got to work. Repaired a small tear in the main sail. After a first attempt to patch it, which failed because the contact cement I have will not even hold two pieces of sigarette paper together, I ended up sewing it by hand.

After a good lunch, Chinese food since that Malay Thai I wanted to go for was closed, I did my round along the offices: marine department (visited twice because they were out for a long lunch), port captain and customs.

Now I am sitting in a coffee shop with free WiFi but their network is down.

Plan is to leave for Kota Kinabalu (on the other [west] side of Borneo) tomorrow morning. Right at 100 nautical miles should not take much more than a day. Winds might be light so might have to motor as well.

Main sail repair.

My neighbors, the Kudat Golf & Marina Resort.

The other boats in the anchorage.

Kids traffic training (?) on the parking lot of the cities offices.

Podium they were setting up in near the centre of town. Not sure what the event was going to be.

The Chinese temple next door to where I am sitting.

A soda with ice scream, looks better than it tastes.
